Jil Sander is pleased to announce its participation in the Cassina “Staging Modernity” theatrical performance and installation at the Teatro Lirico Giorgio Gaber during Milan Design Week 2025, curated by Formafantasma.

Supporting the project through the dressing of the performers directed by Fabio Cherstich, Jil Sander offers a design-led, versatile wardrobe that effortlessly allows bodily moment and seamlessly merges the costumes with the furniture objects at the core of the exhibition celebrating the 60th anniversary of the production of the Le Corbusier®, Pierre Jeanneret®, Charlotte Perriand® Collection edited by Cassina.

This thoughtful and provocative intervention questions the dissonance between Modernist ideals and the contemporary world, inviting the visitor to reflect on a constantly evolving vision that detaches itself from the industrial and rational to encompass a natural and wild ecology.

The participation comes through a continued partnership between Jil Sander and design studio Formafantasma, with whom the brand has collaborated in recent years across boutique architecture, fragrance bottle design, and an upcoming new project unveiling in Venice during the Architecture Biennial in May.

With a heritage of design, Jil Sander has long been revered for its purity of form across collections that explore the ultimate in personal luxury through meticulous attention to quality and fit. This is not the first time Jil Sander offers costumes for a performance, following in the steps of Ms. Jil Sander who in 1984 had created looks for John Neumeier’s ballet “Mozart 338” designing garments that allowed the Hamburg Corps de Ballet to move with ease, even in the most unconventional or extreme poses.
