Mr. Park Jae Kwang’s Dedicated Artwork for the Hotel
Hong Kong in Comics: Edward Panda’s Perspective

During his residency at Kowloon Shangri-La, Mr. Park Jae Kwang created a bespoke 2m (w) x 1m (h) artwork featuring the hotel’s mascot, Edward Panda, as the central figure. The piece artfully blends the hotel lobby mural with Hong Kong’s stunning landscapes and rich cultural vibrancy. Through immersive observation and experience, Park reinterprets these elements in a lively comic style.
The story begins with the hotel’s famous Shangri-La Valley mural as the backdrop, which conceals nine dragons symbolizing Kowloon. Edward Panda, holding the newly launched dim sum from the Michelin-starred Shang Palace, sets off from the hotel, traveling along the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront and passing iconic landmarks such as museums and the Bruce Lee statue, surrounded by lively scenes of joggers, diners, and taxi passengers.
Afternoon Tea: Savor the Art of Korean Flavors

Complementing the visual experience, guests can savour an artful afternoon tea set blending traditional Korean flavours with creative twists. Signature dishes include Ginseng Chicken Mousse with Black Truffle and Garlic Cream, Grilled Iberico Pork Belly with Spicy Soybean Paste Wrapped in Lettuce, Kimchi and Wagyu Rice Croquettes, Black Sesame Mascarpone Cheesecake, and White Coffee Mud Cake. The tea set is beautifully enhanced by Kim Jung Gi’s lively comic characters, adding playful storytelling to the culinary journey.
