Unveiling an Exclusive Apparel Collection and Limited-Edition Whisky Crafted with Club Qing

A Farewell to Big JJ’s Original Wo On Lane Location in Central

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, LEATHER HEALER (LH) joins forces with Big JJ Seafood Hotpot for a one-of-a-kind collaboration. The project unfolds in two parts: an exclusive apparel capsule and a limited-edition whisky created in partnership with Hong Kong’s independent bottler Club Qing.

LEATHER HEALER × Big JJ Seafood Hotpot × Club Qing Whisky

The collaboration was born at the table, where Big JJ’s founder, Peter, introduced the LH team to a remarkable whisky from Club Qing—Hong Kong’s pioneer independent whisky bottler. Given whisky’s deep historical ties to the American frontier and vintage workwear culture, the partnership was a natural extension of LH’s rugged yet refined aesthetic.

The partners selected a single cask from Ardmore Distillery, located near Kennethmont in the Scottish Highlands. Founded in 1898, Ardmore is renowned for its distinctive medium-peated spirit (12–14 ppm), balancing floral and apple notes with subtle wood smoke. Distilled in 2014 and matured in a Spanish Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry cask, the whisky reveals a complex layer of sweetness and depth—mirroring LH’s approach to timeless, detail-driven design. Only 60 bottles have been produced worldwide.

2025 marked twin milestones: LH’s 10-year anniversary and the final year of Big JJ’s original Wo On Lane location. Wayne (LH) and Peter (Big JJ), both shaped by ’80s–’90s Japanese-American cultures, also share a love for Hong Kong’s cha chaan teng culture — where marble-patterned tabletops, Maryland floral cups, and diner-style comfort foods create a nostalgic, distinctly local aesthetic.

Merging the aesthetics of the Big JJ’s cha chaan teng uniform with the classic American bowling shirt, LH reinterprets the silhouette through a Hong Kong lens. The result is a two-tone shirt in coffee-inspired shades of brown and beige, featuring a relaxed open collar and soft drape that blends vintage character with modern ease. Twin chest pockets, a left “LH 10TH” insignia, and a back design featuring LEATHER HEALER and Big JJ Seafood Hotpot logos complete the piece.

A Dad Cap complements the shirt, finished with Big JJ’s embroidered logotype and a custom retro-style visor sticker. Available in dual-tone and light brown versions, the latter is reserved exclusively for collaborators and close friends of the brand.

About LEATHER HEALER

LEATHER HEALER, founded in 2015 by Wayne Lau, is a Hong Kong concept store built around high-quality handcrafted leather shoes, men’s apparel, and accessories. With flagship locations in Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui, it offers a curated selection of classic and contemporary leather footwear alongside hats, silver jewelry, bags, and casual shoes — encouraging customers to express personal style while bringing leather craftsmanship into everyday life.

As one of Hong Kong’s few specialty stores that combine retail with professional shoe care and repair services, LEATHER HEALER celebrates the heritage of shoemaking through both international and local collaborations. In addition to curating leading global brands such as Berwick1707 (Spain), Blackstock & Weber (USA), and FULLCOUNT (Japan), the brand continues to champion local design, notably through its partnership with Hong Kong sportswear icon YASAKI. Following the acclaimed debut of the LH × Berwick “Born To Run” Derby Shoes in 2026, more exclusive collaborations are set to be unveiled in the coming year.

In recent years, the restaurant has also partnered with European wineries to craft its own red, white, and sparkling wines. In 2026, Big JJ will conclude its chapter on Wo On Lane as it prepares for the next stage of its journey.
